Hi all,
    Our phone conference was a success, however was only attended by 5 
people, with about 24 of you not bothering to RSVP at all.  Having a lot 
of experience with meetup.com in the past, I know this is typical of 
other meetups.  However, this group has much to do, and at this time, 
needs active participants in getting our operations off the ground and 
recruit new members to Restore LA and our cause of fighting for our 
representation within LA County.

We've already raised close to $10,000, and spent roughly $8,000 on our 
first campaign against LA County corruption.  We will continue to raise 
funds into 2010, looking to support candidates in the very near future.

Because Restore LA currently needs 'a few good men and women', people 
who are looking for more than another social club, committed to helping 
us build our organization, we are adding a "good-faith" donation 
requirement to remain a meetup member.

Starting tomorrow, everyone in our meetup has one month, until February 
12, 2010, to make a small $25.00 donation to Restore LA.  Donations can 
be made with a check or on our website using Paypal.

We are registered with the State of CA as a 527 organization, our FPPC # 
is 1319125.

Going forward, all new members will also have a one month "trial" period 
from the time of their meetup join to see if he or she is truly 
interested in supporting our organization.  After this month, they will 
also be asked to make a $25.00 donation toward Restore LA and help 
finance its operations.

Our current monthly expenses include our phone lines (calls, voter 
polling), including our "Red Phone" fraud tip hotline, our website 
hosting and development, and mailbox.

Besides the $25.00 donation, the greatest thing we can all do right now 
is tell friends and grow our numbers.  LA is huge and going to require 
at least 100-200 committed and engaged citizens in order to get anything 
done.
