> If you turned off CNN, Fox, MSNBC and forgot about national politics,
I've never watched CNN or MSNBC those stations don't come on my TV and I only watch 'The Simpsons' on channel 11 (FOX). I have not watched any news since the last presidential election when it was clear we were not going to have a president. I'm waiting for when we do again.
So, you might say I already am doing exactly what you suggest. I get newsletters from various councilmen and city organizations so I know a bit of what's going on in the area.
As a Libertarian I would say the very same thing as Jenny just did. Except I haven't gone to a move for many years, haha. Drugs are the #1 situation that needs clearing up. The fight against them is costing too much tax money when we could be making tax money if they were legal. But I know why that's not going to happen. Too many fingers in the pie. Think of all the people who would loose jobs if drugs were legal!
Education is next. People should be given information. But they have been so ingrained with the idea that government is 'helping' and they are greedy so they won't get those tax spending people out of office. Look at all the people who are so happy to get a tax refund. That's crazy. Don't they know the government is taking THEIR money, keeping it for a year, not paying interest and they making US ask for it back? And anyone who says it's way for them to save. LOL, how stupid is that. There must be better ways to have control over ones own money than to give it to someone who also doesn't know how to handle it, haha. Well, that's enough for now.

Hi Anthony,
First of all, get rid of taxes and regulations that make it so hard for business to thrive here. Then create incentives to bring the work and business back, especially runaway film production, down 37% in 2009 from the previous year! And it's not because people aren't going to the movies, so movies are still being made somewhere, just not here. It's too expensive for companies to shoot in LA.
Let the medical marijuana cooperatives grow in number according to need, instead of limiting to 70. Why this arbitrary number? It's not like we don't have enough vacant store fronts!
Get meddling local government out of our lives and off our backs, and get rid of all the traffic cameras!
In Liberty and Freedom,
Jenny Worman

Subject: [restorela] Open Discussion - Introductions
Hi all,
I wanted to open our group up to some discussion regarding local issues you think Restore LA could pursue. This email address "restorela-list" allows us to email everyone with one email. When you reply to this email, everyone in our list receives a copy.
This is great to discuss non time-sensitive issues at your convenience. If a discussion goes into much detail, we can move it onto our bulletin board so as to not flood your email box.
The question becomes: If you turned off CNN, Fox, MSNBC and forgot about national politics, what would like to see happen locally here in LA, in our own backyards? All too often even local news doesn't cover the REAL local news here. That is one of the ways Restore LA can create change locally, by reporting on the local politics and government in way to engage fellow voters.
Don't be shy, let's hear what you have to say.
